Changing the World, One Book at a Time…

A Little Bit About the Inspiration Behind Misty Denison’s Character

by | Dec 17, 2017

As those who have read Just the Way You Are know, in the beginning, I wrote that Misty often felt like a cross between Ariel and Rapunzel because she was hidden from a world she desperately wanted to be a part of. There is a reason, aside from that Ariel is my all-time favorite princess, that those two particular princesses helped to inspire Misty. Ariel and Rapunzel are both beautiful princesses who have been beloved by many for years, but more importantly, their stories prove that are brave women who have the courage to go after what they want in life despite any obstacles they may face. I wanted Misty to be like Ariel and Rapunzel in that way because it is important for young girls to understand the significance of being brave. More importantly, young girls need to realize that no matter how difficult it might be, they should go after what they want in life because life is short and you only live once.  I truly believe and hope that I accomplished just that through the character of Misty. I truly believe and hope that her story shows young girls the importance of being brave and going after what they truly want in life. Until next time, happy reading, and as always, don’t forget to love yourself just the way you are 🙂
